As an IPP Coordinator/Lab Analyst based in Chicago, IL, you'll join a team of multi-discipline technical experts ensuring our clients can deliver their products and services uninterrupted. We'll provide you with the tools to become an expert on building systems that support our clients' operations and ensure safety. You’ll develop your expertise to assist in the safe and time-critical operation, maintenance, and repair of mission-essential equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, and general commercial and industrial facilities. You’ll be based in West Chicago, IL, and responsible for implementing an industrial pretreatment program and providing recommendations to ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Track and interpret pretreatment program regulations, identifying requirements for POTW and industrial citizens.
  • Maintain monitoring data and compliance records; keep an updated list of industrial users and maintain open communication channels.
  • Write and issue discharge permits; review industrial process changes affecting discharges; recommend updates to local pretreatment regulations.
  • Conduct inspections, schedule and coordinate sampling for compliance and surcharge monitoring, and review monitoring data to determine compliance status.
  • Assist in developing Enforcement Response Plans and local limits; provide technical assistance for enforcement actions.
  • Help diagnose process problems within POTW operations and prepare required reports, including the Annual Report.
  • Bring innovative ideas, multitasking skills, and attention to detail to support our clients in maintaining operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • BSBA degree or ability to test for an entry-level operator certification in Illinois.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, and performing repetitive movements, with possible exposure to heights, confined spaces, and chemicals. Appropriate safety equipment will be provided and required.
