Job summary

Curaleaf in Holbrook, AZ is hiring an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician to protect plant health through pest prevention, disease monitoring, and treatment applications. You'll work closely with the cultivation team, follow SOPs, maintain records, and safely apply preventative treatments.

Starting pay is $17.50 per hour, full-time, non-exempt, with shift Mon-Fri 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The role offers competitive pay, PTO, benefits, and the chance to grow a career in cannabis cultivation.

WhatYou’llDo:

As an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Technician, you'll play a critical role in protecting the health and quality of our plants through proactive pest prevention, disease monitoring, and treatment applications. Working closely with the cultivation team, you'll help ensure our plants thrive by following industry best practices, maintaining accurate records, and safely applying preventative treatments.
The foundation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is prevention, achieved by maintaining a meticulously clean cultivation environment. This begins with the Room Reset, a time sensitive protocol for cleaning and sanitizing flower rooms immediately following harvest to establish a contaminant free space for incoming plants from the vegetation rooms. Room reset involves the following tasks.

  • Removing all pots, trellis, weed barriers, tags, and other large debris
  • Gathering all smaller, loose debris from tables and floors
  • Meticulously cleaning tables, trellis poles, irrigation lines, sensors, walls and floors
  • Communicating with Maintenance and Fertigation about repairs or necessities for the room
  • Managing inventory of supplies and cleaning products
  • Upkeeping records of room resets and KPIs
  • Being available as a backup spray applicator technician, with full training

When Room Reset duties are complete or assistance is not required, the IPM Technician will also have the following duties:

  • Monitor plants daily for pests, diseases, and overall plant health through routine scouting and inspections
  • Mix and apply pesticides, preventative treatments, beneficial insects, and approved cleaning agents according to established protocols
  • Operate and maintain Dramm Hydraulic Sprayers and other IPM equipment
  • Apply biological controls and preventative treatments to support healthy plant growth
  • Maintain accurate pesticide application records and compliance documentation
  • Partner with the IPM Supervisor to coordinate treatment schedules and application plans
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to all safety protocols
  • Conduct follow-up inspections and document results to ensure treatments are effective and our quality standards are consistently met

  • Comfortable working in a cultivation environment that may include exposure to common allergens, pesticides, cleaning agents, elevated temperatures, humidity, and increased CO₂ levels while following all required safety protocols

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday (8–10-hour shifts)
  • Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and other repetitive movements in support of daily cultivation activities
  • Extended, repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, and fingers to handle, trim, cut, and manipulate small objects with precision
  • Close visual focus and attention to detailrequiredwhen inspecting plants and performing quality-related tasks
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 100 feet, with occasional lifting of heavier items usingappropriate assistance
  • Ability to climb ladders and step stools to safely access plants, equipment, and work areas
  • Ability to work in a cultivation environment with exposure to plant materials, pollen and strong odors
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, respirators, hair nets, beard covers, boot covers, scrubs, Tyvek suits, and non-slip footwear, as required by the task

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to environments with high humidity, varying temperatures, and strong odors (such as cannabis)
  • Exposure to soil, water, fertilizer, dust,pollenand plant pathogens
  • Exposure to cleaning solvents, such as high volumes of isopropyl alcohol
  • Exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms
  • Exposure to CO2 manufacturing procedures at OSHA approved CO2 levels
