Job summary

University of Arizona in Yuma, AZ is seeking a part-time Extended Temporary Research Technician I to support IPM research on vegetable pests. The role covers lab, greenhouse, and field activities, insect rearing, sample processing, data recording, and safety compliance under Dr. Rosan Adhikari.

The position is 20 hours per week, non-exempt, with benefits. Visa sponsorship is not available. Open date 9/18/2026; target hire 10/12/2026; end date 4/30/2027.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal research protocols.

Responsibilities

• Insect rearing and laboratory research: assist with rearing and maintenance of insect colonies and laboratory experiments.
• Field and greenhouse research: assist with vegetable IPM trials, planting and plot maintenance.
• Insect sampling and monitoring: conduct sampling and monitoring in research plots and fields.
• Research data and record management: collect, enter, organize, and maintain records of observations and experimental data.
• Laboratory and research support: prepare samples and materials; maintain supplies and safe work areas.
