Job summary

Bland Landscaping Company in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Lawn Technician to perform IPM functions, plan and document daily tasks, and support Grounds Management under the Production Manager.

You will maintain safety, assist with seasonal tasks, supervise maintenance crews, and communicate with managers and clients. The role requires physical ability, outdoor work in all weather, and eventual pesticide licensing within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Experience with IPM practices and pest control is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors and clients clearly.
• Wamiliarity with safety protocols and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain environmental and public safety practices.
• Perform IPM tasks and seasonal landscape duties.
• Coordinate with Assistant and Branch Managers on pest concerns.
• Attend safety meetings and drive company vehicles safely.
• Prepare timesheets and pesticide records.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Lawn Technician is a hands‑on position in Grounds Management that performs IPM functions, planning, administrative and regulatory functions. Other duties as directed from the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

Production

• Maintain at all times proper environmental and public safety practices
• Maintain Chemical Storage area in a clean and organized manner
• Daily Communication with Asst. Managers and Branch Manager regarding concerns or pest problems
• Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings
• Safe driving of company owned vehicles trucks (with or without trailers)
• Perform current IPM Practices and procedures as stated in company program
• Snow removal in the winter months
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as annual flower installation and enhancements
• Must be able to work various shifts (early mornings or evenings in order to perform duties when public, property, or safety is an issue)
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Horticulture

• Observe and identify major turf and ornamental pests/formulate safe and effective remedies
• Supervise and train maintenance crews on all aspects of landscape maintenance services

Customer Service

• Maintain communication with clients and general public in order to address questions or concerns

Accounting

• Prepare timesheets and other daily paperwork as required by the company
• Keep current all Pesticide Application Records and site Pest History Reports

Pay/Benefits Package

• $800 to $1020 Weekly Salary

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
• Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must wear sturdy shoes, company uniforms, and assigned PPE

• Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
• Must wear company‑provided eye and ear protection as required
• Must have valid NC Driver's license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred)
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be willing to obtain NC Pesticide applicators license (Ground Applicator, Sub Class l turf and Ornamental) within 90 days of employment in this position
• Must be able to read and understand standard Pesticide Labeling and perform proper procedures for mixing,
• Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
• Must comply with Bland's policies and procedures
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
