University of Maryland Department of Entomology is recruiting an Assistant Professor & Extension Specialist in Integrated Pest Management for the Green Industry. The role focuses on building a vibrant, stakeholder-engaged program addressing Maryland’s arboriculture, nursery, turfgrass, and related sectors, with emphasis on biological control, climate resilience, and sustainable pest management.

• Ph.D. in entomology, horticulture, plant sciences, integrated pest management, ecology, applied biology, or related field by appointment.
• Demonstrated evidence of research excellence and strong communication skills.
• Extension and/or outreach experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop a regionally relevant, externally funded research/extension program addressing Maryland green industry needs.
• Lead development of sustainable management approaches and dissemination through extension outreach tools and education programs.
• Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and departmental, college, university, and professional service.
