Job summary

Unalaska City School District is seeking a semi-skilled worker to support cleaning and maintenance of district facilities under supervision. The role includes assisting with property maintenance, restocking materials, and implementing preventative maintenance tasks.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 months of related experience or training. Candidates should be able to read procedures, write reports, and present information effectively, with a typical schedule

Education and/or Experience:

• Graduate from high school or general education degree.
• Three months related experience and/or training.

Language Skills:

• Read and interpret procedures, policies and regulations, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, staff, and public.

Preference:

• Inupiaq speaking and cultural experience preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

• Add, subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide using 10’s and 100’s.
• Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of non-standard situations.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• A valid Class D Alaska driver’s license may be required.

Other Skills and Abilities:

• Lift 70 pounds.

• Attend District training as required. Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign.
