Job summary

BSU Inc. is seeking a skilled assembler/solderer to work on printed circuit boards, performing surface mount and through-hole soldering, visual inspection, and dimensional checks to IPC‑A‑610 Class 3. You will read BOMs and assembly drawings to ensure high quality assemblies for customers.

ITAR restrictions apply; US Citizenship or green card required. Strong English communication and meticulous documentation are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience soldering surface mount and through-hole components to IPC Class 3.
• Experience inspecting surface mount and through hole solder per IPC-A-610 Class 3 workmanship requirements.
• Good working knowledge of ESD and IPC-A-610 class 3 workmanship requirements.
• Familiarity with J Standard or Mil-cert is beneficial.
• Reading and comprehending process documentation including Bills of Materials and Assembly drawings.
• Excellent English communication, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational skills with part counting ability.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Solder surface mount components (Fine pitch, SOIC etc.).
• Solder through-hole components.
• Perform visual inspection of PCBs for IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements.
• Inspect using microscopes, calipers, and micrometers.
• Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conduct tests; return products for rework.
• Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; record quality results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary:

The candidate is responsible for soldering or assembling and inspecting surface mount and through hole electronic components on printed circuit boards. The candidate must demonstrate quality workmanship and be able to read and interpret work documents such as BOMs, routers, work instructions, and drawings necessary to produce high quality electronic assemblies that exceed our customer’s expectations, in accordance with industry standards. Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required.

Job Duties:

• Solder surface mount components (Fine pitch, SOIC etc.).
• Solder through-hole components.
• Perform visual inspection of PCB’s for IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements.
• Perform inspection tasks using microscopes, calipers, and micrometers.
• Perform visual inspection of PCBs for IPC-A-610 workmanship requirements.
• Inspects for visual cosmetic, dimensional, and fit & function compliance.
• Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
• Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Familiar with electronics components: resistors, capacitors, diodes, inductors, transistors, ICs, etc...
• Experience soldering surface mount and through-hole components to IPC Class 3.
• Experience inspecting surface mount and through hole solder per IPC-A-610 Class 3 workmanship requirements.
• Good working knowledge of ESD and IPC-A-610 class 3 workmanship requirements.
• Familiarity with J Standard or Mil-cert is beneficial.
• Expected to read and comprehend process documentation including Bills of Materials and Assembly drawings.
• Expected to communicate well in English both verbally and in written format.
• Component Identification Ability required.
• Candidates should be very organized with the ability to keep count of parts.
• Candidates should have the ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Education:

• High school diploma.
• Associate Degree (preferred).
• Proficient with excel and Word is a must.
