Our client is seeking a mid-level to senior associate or counsel to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice. This is an opportunity for an experienced technology and privacy attorney to advise a diverse client base on complex commercial, data security, and emerging technology matters in a practical, business-oriented manner.The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technology transactions and privacy law, along with the ability to serve as a trusted, embedded advisor to clients ranging from emerging growth companies to established brands in the software, media, entertainment, and consumer products sectors.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on privacy, data security, and emerging technology mattersDraft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including software licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, terms of use, privacy policies, technology development and services agreements, AI data licenses, master service agreements (MSAs), and data processing agreementsCounsel clients on compliance with privacy laws and frameworks, including CCPA and GDPRAdvise on legal issues related to CIPA and similar claimsProvide guidance on legal issues surrounding artificial intelligence, generative AI tools, and digital assetsCommunicate complex legal concepts in clear, practical, and accessible terms for clientsServe as a solutions-oriented, embedded advisor to clients across a range of industriesParticipate in business generation and marketing effortsQualificationsSubstantial experience advising clients on privacy and data security matters and technology transactionsSignificant experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology-driven agreementsFamiliarity with legal issues surrounding artificial intelligence, generative AI, and digital assetsExperience counseling clients on compliance with privacy laws and frameworks, including CCPA and GDPRExperience navigating CIPA and similar claims strongly preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business guidancePortable business is a plus but not requiredDemonstrated interest in business development and client relationship managementThis role offers the opportunity to work with a client base spanning emerging growth businesses to established technology-focused companies, providing sophisticated counsel on some of the most current issues in privacy, data security, and technology law.
