Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles is seeking an IP Specialist to support patent searches, investigations, and IP portfolio development. You will coordinate with inventors and outside counsel while drafting licenses and NDAs, helping protect Textron's technologies.

The role requires a engineering degree and 2+ years in a related field, with familiarity of Anaqua, IP Rally, and Microsoft Office. You will operate within a global manufacturing environment and contribute to litigation support when needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering required
  • Years of Experience: 2 or more years of experience in related field required
  • Admitted to practice before USPTO
  • Microsoft suite experience required

Responsibilities

  • Perform patent searches and investigate competitor technology.
  • Conduct patent clearance investigations and maintain patent marking websites.
  • Develop knowledge of business unit patent and trademark portfolios and competitor intellectual property.
  • Implement Textron intellectual property processes.
  • Develop strategy to grow patent portfolio in coordination with company personnel and outside counsel.
  • Review competitor patents and classify them.
  • Review work performed by outside counsel.
  • Interact with inventors and coordinate invention disclosures.
  • Review and draft license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other contracts.
  • Provide support for intellectual property litigation.

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of golf cars, utility and personal transportation vehicles, snowmobiles, side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. Textron Specialized Vehicles markets products under several different brands. Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform patent searches and investigate competitor technology.
