Job description

Patent Prosecution Specialist

Location: Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. Hybrid in‑office/remote schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including new applications, IDS, preliminary amendments, formalities.
  • Prepare and file client reporting letters and correspondence regarding formalities, official actions, notices of allowance, and letters patent.
  • Prepare and file documents related to international and foreign national patent applications, and file with WIPO and foreign national patent offices per guidelines.
  • Analyze PTO‑issued documents for accuracy (e.g., filing receipts, assignment documents, certificates of correction).
  • Transcribe instructions, produce patent applications, correspondence, reports, memoranda, proofread and redline, photocopy, assemble, and distribute documents.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant patent prosecution experience (equivalent combinations of education and experience considered).
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and assignments.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and participate actively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with CPI Patent, MS Office, WorkSite, Adobe Acrobat, Legal MacPac, Outlook, iManage.

Competitive salary with a range of $75,400–$120,550 (Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C.).
