Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join a well-established IP practice with offices in Portland, ME, Boston, MA, or Portsmouth, NH.

You will manage patent prosecution, work with clients and attorneys, and draft applications involving medical devices, electronics, robotics, and related technologies.

Candidates should have 2–4 years of patent prosecution experience and a strong technical background.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Physics, or a closely related technical field.
• Experience with patent matters involving medical devices, electronics, robotics, or similar technologies.
• Strong academic background and excellent analytical abilities.
• Strong technical and legal writing skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Handle patent prosecution matters from application drafting through prosecution.
• Work closely with clients and attorneys to understand complex technical and legal issues.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications involving technologies such as medical devices, electronics, robotics, and related technologies.
• Prepare clear, technically accurate legal documents and client communications.
• Analyze complex technical concepts and translate them into effective patent strategies and written materials.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients on intellectual property matters and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
