Senior Legal Recruitment Consultant across the United States | Sourcing top level talent in Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law

Base pay: $200,000.00/yr - $600,000.00/yr

Locations: Candidates can reside and work on a hybrid and/or remote basis from the United States. New York is a primary location.

Basic salary + bonus is dependent on portable book size, experience, and background.

Your total annual compensation, including base salary and bonus, typically amounts to around 50% of your portable business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a full range of IP matters, including trademark, copyright, patent prosecution, and patent litigation
  • Develop and execute strategic IP enforcement and defense strategies for clients across diverse industries, including sports, media, and entertainment
  • Advise clients on portfolio development, licensing, branding strategies, and risk management
  • Oversee and mentor associates and support staff on IP-related cases and transactions
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high-quality service and responsiveness
  • Originate and develop business, leveraging existing relationships and portable clients to expand the firm’s IP practice
  • Collaborate with attorneys in complementary practice areas to provide integrated legal solutions
  • Stay current on evolving IP laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide forward-thinking counsel
  • Represent clients before administrative bodies, courts, and relevant agencies in complex IP disputes and proceedings
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the firm’s existing client base
  • Experience in court proceedings
Candidate Requirements
  • Candidates must have a self-sustaining portable book of business or at least a book of $500,000 to be considered
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience practicing intellectual property law, with a focus on areas such as trademark, copyright, patent prosecution, and/or patent litigation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex IP matters and manage client relationships independently
  • Proven track record of business development, including maintaining and expanding a loyal client base
  • Strong background working with clients in industries such as technology, media, sports, and entertainment
  • Excellent legal judgment, communication, and strategic advisory skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different practice areas and offices
  • Admission to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; USPTO registration is a plus for patent practitioners
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to contribute to the continued growth of the IP practice
