Job summary

EMERGE partner law firm seeks an experienced IP Litigation Specialist to join its Houston office. You will support attorneys from discovery through trial, manage case files, coordinate discovery, and handle document productions in a fast-paced legal environment.

The role requires a strong litigation background, proficiency with Word/Excel/Outlook/Adobe, and familiarity with electronic discovery and docketing systems. In-office opportunity with competitive benefits and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, including litigation support.
• Strong background in litigation required; IP litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing, formatting, proofreading, and filing litigation documents and legal correspondence.
• Familiarity with electronic discovery, document review platforms, and litigation databases.
• Experience assisting with document productions, quality control, and discovery management.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court deadlines, and case management.
• Experience maintaining litigation calendars, docketing systems, and case files.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience with iManage, InTapp, Chrome River, and IP docketing systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys handling intellectual property and related litigation matters.
• Maintain litigation case files, secondary dockets, and electronic document management systems.
• Draft, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other litigation materials.
• Prepare and transmit legal documents and communications to clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Assist with electronic court filings and ensure compliance with applicable filing requirements.
• Support electronic discovery processes, including organizing documents, setting up review databases, and archiving litigation data.
• Assist attorneys with drafting search queries, identifying relevant documents, and managing document review projects.
• Coordinate litigation-related activities, including depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Assist with new matter intake, conflict checks, file openings, and engagement letters.
• Coordinate attorney calendars, travel arrangements, and continuing legal education tracking.
• Maintain accurate records of billable work and meet an annual billing expectation of 750 hours.
