Job summary

Empire Fiber seeks an IP Engineer to design, implement, and support IP-based services across multiple NY locations. The role focuses on Internet, SIP (VoIP), IPTV, with on-call nights, weekends, and holidays on rotation to ensure high availability, performance, and security of the service provider network.

The position requires working in a hands-on team environment, handling outages, and driving network improvements. Salary range provided reflects market rates for this on-call role.

Qualifications

• Experience with digital telecommunications equipment, Internet Protocol, VOIP, Centrex, PBX, voice mail and DSLAMS carriers.
• Must have a Valid NYS Driver's License.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, procedures, or regulations.

Responsibilities

• Network Design & Implementation.
• Design, deploy, and optimize IP/MPLS networks.
• Maintain and configure SIP/VoIP infrastructure.
• Manage multicast streaming and IGMP/PIM configurations.
• Monitor network performance and resolve service issues.
• Manage firewall policies and DDoS mitigation.
• Maintain network documentation and change logs.
