Qualifications

• Review medical documentation to support code selection.
• Collaborate with CDI staff for query resolution.

Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient (100% Remote)

Location: Remote | Facility: Level 3 Trauma Center

Schedule: Flexible 40-hour workweek (No set schedule)

We’re hiring a Certified Medical Coder to support a busy Level 3 Trauma Facility. This is a fully remote position offering schedule flexibility and the opportunity to work with a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, PCS, and/or CPT codes to inpatient records
• Ensure appropriate DRG assignment
• Review medical documentation to support code selection and coding guidelines
• Collaborate with CDI staff through Iodine’s Interact platform for query resolution
• Meet a productivity expectation of 16–20 inpatient charts per day
  
  

Requirements

• AHIMA or AAPC certification (CCS, RHIT, RHIA, CIC)
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient coding experience
• Experience with Altera EMR (formerly Sunrise Clinical Manager) and Solventum CAC
• Knowledge of DRG assignment and current coding guidelines
• Ability to work independently and maintain productivity in a remote setting
  
  

Preferred

• Familiarity with Iodine’s Interact for CDI query workflows
• Previous experience coding for a trauma-designated facility
