Job summary

Merrill Steel in Camanche, IA is seeking an entry-level production worker to operate standard manufacturing equipment, read blueprints, and perform layout tasks with accuracy.

You will use Hill Acme punches, drills, shear, burn table, angle line and various saws while maintaining safety, quality and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Position Description

Technical Skills

1. Accurately adds and subtracts fractions, reads tape measure accurately
2. Reads basic blueprints
3. Operates Hill Acme Punch / Drills / Shear/ and does layout
4. Operates Burn table / Angle line / Punch combo saws
5. Quantity of work is acceptable for entry level
6. Runs Manual saws

Quality and Safety Skills

1. Operates all required production equipment in a safe manner
2. Uses overhead crane according to all safety requirements, chain rigging, beam turning, etc.
3. Uses required personal protection equipment (PPE) al all times
4. Quality of work is acceptable for entry level
5. Receives instructions and direction well
6. Maintains a consistent, positive work ethic and attitude
7. Friendly and cooperative with fellow employees and supervision
