Job summary

Programming.com in San Jose, CA is seeking a thermal test engineer for its IoT group. You will design and execute system-level thermal tests on switches, routers, and wireless products, and develop detailed test plans.

You will interface with electrical, mechanical, RF and software teams to define test setups, monitor critical components, and troubleshoot issues. You will analyze results, prepare comprehensive reports, and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience with system level thermal testing.
• Experience with script writing for thermal test set-up.
• Experience with set-up and configuration of traffic generation at system level prior to thermal test execution.
• Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, RF and software engineering.
• Able to analyze thermal test data, write a comprehensive thermal test report and identify root cause of any thermal issues and provide improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Generate detailed test plans for all testing.
• Interface with cross functional teams to determine critical components to monitor, system set-up requirements and operating environmental requirements.
• Prepare system for thermal testing including thermocouple attach, system configuration set-up, Diag and IOS set-up for traffic generation, thermal chamber set- up, etc.
• Interface with all cross-functional groups to troubleshoot set-up issues. Communicate test results to all applicable groups and provide support with any thermal issues.
