Job summary

HydroPoint Data Systems, Inc. is seeking a full-time QA Test Engineer for an onsite role in Boise, Idaho. You will own quality across our IoT device ecosystem—from device firmware to cloud data, including testing mobile apps via Bluetooth, and building Python‑based automated tests.

You’ll work with real hardware, develop test plans, and ensure end‑to‑end data integrity through our cloud pipelines. This role demands strong QA ownership and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, IEEE, or QA related field.
Five or more years of software quality assurance experience.
Embedded software products testing experience.
Hardware functional testing experience.
Mobile and web application testing experience.
Experience developing and executing end‑to‑end tests across hardware, firmware, and cloud services.
Familiarity testing native mobile apps on iOS and Android.
IoT devices and hardware testing experience.
Python for automated test suites.
SQL querying to validate data in relational databases.

Responsibilities

End-to-end functional and regression testing of IoT devices and firmware.
Validate data flow from device to cloud processing pipelines and database.
Query database to verify data integrity and device behavior.
Test mobile apps (iOS/Android) communicating with IoT devices via Bluetooth.
Write and maintain Python-based automated test suites.
Develop test plans from specifications and define testing strategy for IoT features.
Collaborate with customer service and product teams to address issues and escalation.
