Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Test Technician I – Software & IoT Testing to support development testing of embedded systems, IoT Cloud, and mobile apps. You will execute procedures, generate analysis reports, and work with cross-functional teams under supervision.

The role emphasizes understanding test methods, communicating results, and identifying problem areas in test plans and lab processes.

Qualifications

Degree minimum: AAS Software Applications Development, Electronic Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Specific concentration: Software Development, Electronics, &/or Robotics
Experience level: Entry level

Responsibilities

Conduct testing using procedures of varying complexity with accuracy and timeliness.
Develop detailed reports describing analysis, data and results; make recommendations.
Integrate electronic, electrical, mechanical and software/firmware principles in testing.
Maintain objectivity and follow direct manager guidance.
Demonstrate knowledge in embedded software testing and IoT Cloud API testing; help with protocol development and data analysis.
Apply experience to improve laboratory processes and projects.
Attend design reviews to answer test-related questions.
Explore data acquisition or automation in lab processes.
Proactively evaluate changes to engineering lab capabilities.
