Own the iOS client for a product where AI is the experience: how it feels, responds and performs in the user’s hand.
The Opportunity
Our client is rebuilding the everyday software people run their lives on, from the inbox to the calendar, as AI-native products that get things done without the user having to learn prompting. They are a well-funded AI applications company, backed by an established technology company in Southeast Asia and building for a global market. The iOS engineer owns the client experience on Apple devices. The client is clear that this is no thin integration job: you will build a production-grade app with AI interactions at its center, where speed, reliability and the user’s trust decide whether the product works.
Role Snapshot
- Location: United States, United Kingdom, Europe (Ireland, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland) or Asia (Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, China)
- Work Model: Remote in most locations; hybrid in the UK, Zurich and Seoul
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Compensation: Competitive, shared on intro call
- Team: Engineering, mobile
What You’ll Own
- Ship and maintain the iOS app in Swift and SwiftUI (the stack also includes SPM, SQL and NoSQL stores, and TensorFlow Lite for on-device inference).
- Bring AI-powered features into the app through backend APIs.
- Define how AI interactions behave on screen: loading states, streamed responses, retries and fallbacks.
- Tune performance, memory use and battery drain.
- Capture the user signals and feedback the AI evaluation loop depends on.
- Agree API design and system behavior with backend and ML engineers.
- Hold a high bar for App Store quality, stability and reliability in production.
What You Bring
- 3+ years building iOS apps in Swift.
- Direct experience integrating AI-powered features into mobile apps.
- Strong command of async/await, concurrency and background tasks.
- Solid skills in iOS performance and memory optimization.
- Production iOS apps you have shipped and maintained.
- Ease designing for latency, partial failure and non-deterministic AI behavior.
- Exposure to CoreML or lightweight on-device ML, plus familiarity with feature flags or remote configuration.
- Good instincts for AI UX patterns and what earns a user’s trust.
Why This Role
- AI is the product, so the iOS client carries real weight in how users experience it.
- A small, hands-on team with a high bar, where engineers bring their own structure and judgment and execute independently.
- Clear success measures: stable, responsive, low-latency apps, with production issues caught early and root-caused properly.
- A short hiring process: three to four interviews, assessed by engineers, with a quick answer.
Not the Right Fit If
- You want a thin integration role that connects screens to an API and stops there.
- You have not shipped AI-powered features in a mobile app. That experience is a stated requirement.
- You prefer heavy process to a small team that decides and ships quickly.
