Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced iOS developer to design and implement features using Swift and SwiftUI in a fast-paced team in California. You will build high-performance mobile apps capable of processing large real-time wind and weather data, and develop EFB components such as location services and map navigation.

Collaboration with senior engineers will drive delivery and quality. The role focuses on offline-first strategies, secure data handling with Keychain, and long-running background

Qualifications

• Proficient in Swift and SwiftUI, with exposure to UIKit and iOS frameworks.
• Experienced with building apps that handle large datasets and real-time data streams.
• Familiar with EFB apps, location services, and map navigation frameworks such as MapKit/Mapbox.
• Experience integrating with external hardware and edge devices for real-time ingestion.
• Optimizes performance while maintaining reliability on offline-first or connectivity-resilient apps.
• Familiar with Swift Concurrency, background tasks, and async/await patterns.
• Knowledge of Keychain, encryption, and secure data handling.
• Strong problem solving and willingness to learn from mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement iOS features using Swift and modern frameworks.
• Build high-performance mobile apps that process real-time wind and weather data.
• Develop EFB features including location services and map navigation.
• Integrate with external hardware and edge devices for real-time data ingestion.
• Architect offline-first experiences with graceful degradation in low connectivity.
• Implement background processing for long-running tasks with Swift Concurrency.
• Apply data security best practices including Keychain storage and encryption.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and designers to deliver precise mobile experiences.
• Participate in code reviews and follow iOS best practices and architecture.
• Ensure code quality through testing and documentation.
