Job summary

Tinder is hiring a Software Engineer II for iOS in Palo Alto. You will build and own consumer‑facing recommendation features in the Tinder iOS app, collaborating with backend, data science, design, and QA teams to deliver polished experiences for millions of users worldwide.

In this hybrid role, you’ll write high-quality Swift, leverage SwiftUI and modern iOS tools, and ensure app health and performance through rigorous testing and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience building production, consumer‑facing iOS apps.
• Proficiency in Swift and modern iOS development including SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency.
• Experience using Xcode and the iOS SDK across the app lifecycle.
• Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating with backend services.
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows (PRs, code reviews).
• Ability to write testable, maintainable code using Swift Testing/XCTest.
• Strong debugging and code-quality fundamentals; capable of giving/receiving code-review feedback.
• Clear, solution-oriented communication; able to collaborate cross‑functionally.
• Ownership mindset; able to own well‑scoped features from implementation to launch.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement consumer‑facing recommendation features in the Tinder iOS app.
• Create polished experiences that connect recommendation logic, APIs, experiments, analytics, and validation for millions of users.
• Own features end-to-end from planning to testing and launch validation with increasing independence.
• Collaborate with iOS and backend engineers, Product, Design, Data Science, QA, and Infrastructure.
• Write maintainable Swift code; help protect app health, performance, and reliability.
• Investigate bugs, identify root causes, and add tests/monitoring to reduce regression risk.
• Contribute to shared frameworks and engineering practices to improve team effectiveness.
• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly and proactively.
• Develop expertise in Tinder’s iOS architecture and recommendations domain.
