Job summary

New Dawn Treatment Center in Reno, NV seeks a dedicated SUD Counselor. You will provide compassionate support and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to individuals seeking recovery, contributing to transformative care.

The role requires a minimum of two years' experience with substance use disorders, and you will conduct group and individual sessions while maintaining thorough documentation and compliance with HIPAA CFR-42 standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current SUDCC or CADC certification.
• Minimum of two years' experience with clients with substance use disorder.
• Experience conducting group sessions and one-on-one sessions.
• Knowledge of evidenced-based treatment modalities.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and personal auto insurance.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• TB test or chest X-ray within required period.
• Experience with electronic charting preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and CFR-42 client confidentiality regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure both individually and in a team.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates in client treatment planning and continuum of care.
• Conducts group sessions as scheduled and documents required.
• Assists with modifying behavioral problems as needed.
• Performs initial treatment assessments and follow-up assignments.
• Ensures documentation related to client care, treatment and incidents is completed promptly.
• Provides crisis intervention to clients as needed.
• Maintains a positive therapeutic environment with individual and group counseling.
• Oversees and manages client incidents and ensures timely incident reports.
• Completes community referrals and ensures continuity of care with other agencies.
• Performs assessments, screenings, treatment planning, and monitors client progress.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in client treatment planning and continuum of care.
• Conducts group sessions as scheduled, and documents as required.
• Assists with modifying behavioral problems, as needed.
• Responsible for initial treatment assessments, as well as follow up assignments.
• Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is completed promptly.
• Provides crisis intervention to clients, as needed.
• Maintain a positive therapeutic environment, providing individual and group counseling.
• Oversee and manage client incidents, ensuring they are addressed promptly and effectively, and ensure that incident reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Complete necessary community referrals and ensure continuity of care with other agencies as needed.
• Conduct assessments, screenings, treatment planning, and managing clients' progress.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a current and valid certification: SUDCC or CADC.
• Must have at least two years' experience working with clients with substance use disorder.
• Experience in conducting group sessions and one on one sessions required.
• Understands the principles and applications of evidenced based treatment modalities.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and maintain personal auto insurance coverage.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification s are required.
