Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC seeks an IONM Technologist with CNIM certification to perform a variety of neurophysiology tests and monitoring throughout the hospital. The role requires strong communication skills and meticulous equipment maintenance in a high-acuity setting.

Candidates should have board registration in Neurophysiology-related field and a minimum of five years’ experience in clinical Neurophysiology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of clinical tests and monitoring procedures in Neurophysiology Labs.
  • Monitor the Epilepsy Unit, NICU, Operating Room, Radiology Suites, and Intensive care units.
  • Maintain, clean and calibrate equipment and maintain all records necessary.
  • Communicate pertinent information effectively to Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, and other appropriate personnel.

To meet the needs of the patient and to support the Department by performing a variety of clinical tests and monitoring procedures in the Neurophysiology Labs. Monitoring and testing are performed throughout the hospital: Epilepsy Unit, NICU, Operating Room, Radiology Suites, and Intensive care units. Ability to communicate pertinent information effectively to Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, and other appropriate personnel. To maintain, clean and calibrate equipment and maintain all records necessary.

Qualifications
Education/Qualification
  • Board Registration in related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the clinical Neurophysiology field
Skills
  • Fundamental computer skills and keyboard familiarity
  • Able to speak and write English Fluently
  • Demonstrated communication, organization and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
