Posting Category: The University of Illinois Springfield ION professional eLearning program (ION) routinely seeks competent, qualified professionals to teach on a per-course basis based on course offerings and need. ION often seeks content experts to develop and deliver specialized training programs to businesses and community partners. ION offers non-credit courses, workshops and professional training programs. ION programs feature 4- or 8-week asynchronous instructor-led courses. Read more about the ION eLearning Program at www.uis.edu/ion.

Responsibilities

Teach ION professional eLearning courses by defining clear learning objectives and understanding your audience's needs. Organize content into structured modules, with practical applications like case studies and projects. Use an LMS (Moodle) to engage participants through discussion forums, and regular assignments with feedback. Ensure accessibility and continuously improve the course by analyzing participation data and feedback, updating content regularly, and staying informed on best practices in online teaching and the subject taught.

Minimum Qualifications
Required
  • Previous experience teaching in a hybrid and/or fully online classroom at the collegiate level is required for ALL ION classes.
  • Experience leveraging educational technology tools and learning management systems is required for all ION Technology courses. All CAPE faculty must be subject matter experts in the field for which they will be hired.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching (minimum of 3 years) and/or administering (minimum of 2 years) in online programs in a higher education setting.
  • Must be a subject matter expert in the area for which you are applying.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver content that is student-centered and actively engages students with diverse interests and needs.
  • Knowledge of career, professional development, experiential learning, workplace trends, and/or service-learning best practices.
Preferred
  • Master's degree
  • Additional certifications/credentials held in the area for which you are applying.
