Job Description

Emerson’s MBA Leadership Program is a four-year, two-rotation experience designed to develop the next generation of senior leaders. We are seeking high-potential MBA candidates to start the program as an Investor Relations Planner, a unique opportunity to shape the future of Emerson’s business strategy while accelerating your career.

As an Investor Relations Planner, you will work closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams to execute highly strategic recurring and project-based assignments to connect Emerson’s senior leadership with the investment community. The position coordinates with the Vice President – Investor Relations, Director – Investor Relations, the Office of the Chief Executive (OCE), and other Enterprise and Business leaders to deliver messages about Emerson’s strategy and financial performance to financial analysts and investors. This role provides direct access to key company leaders and is ideal for future leaders who thrive in a fast-paced environment, are eager to make a measurable impact, and seek a broad developmental opportunity.

Rotation 1: Investor Relations Planner

Begin your journey at Emerson’s global headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Join the Enterprise Investor Relations team and contribute to high-visibility projects that support Emerson’s investor relations strategy and execution. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders, analyze market and competitive dynamics, and help shape Emerson’s engagement with financial markets including buy-side and sell-side analysts. Participate in leadership development programs, executive mentorship, and networking opportunities. Minimal travel may be required.

In Rotation 1, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Support earnings calls, investor conferences, roadshows, and other financial events by preparing presentations, Q&A materials, talking points, and briefing documents.
  • Participate in development of IR strategy and messaging by providing financial analysis, analytics and insights to the Investor Relations team and Emerson executive management.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial messaging and strategic priorities as well as other relevant information for use during quarterly earnings, and throughout the quarter during regular discussions with management and the investment community.
  • Build and maintain complex financial models for Emerson and its peers to support management’s assessment of performance, capital allocation decisions and investor expectations.
  • Analyze consensus models and performing comparative analytics vs. internal forecasts/etc. to provide insights than can help inform and influence the IR team’s strategy and approach.
  • Maintain and optimize the CRM system, ensuring up-to-date records on investor engagement and meeting activity.
  • Participate in investor and sell-side analyst meetings to gain perspective and insight.

In Rotation 2: Own your Career

After your initial full-time role, we will work together to identify a second role at Emerson that matches your skills, aspirations, and interests with the best opportunities available for your development and advancement. Continued accelerated development focus throughout the second role will best prepare you for what’s next. At the end of the program, use the foundational experiences, expansive network, and mastered competencies to be an effective Senior Leader in the organization.

In the program, you will receive:
