Job summary

Private Equity Fund, based in San Francisco, is seeking an Investor Relations Associate/Senior Associate to work directly with the Head of IR on all aspects of investor engagement and fundraising execution.

This hands-on role requires a minimum of two years in investment banking, PE, or related financial services, a bachelor's degree, and strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple moving parts with sophisticated investors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of investment banking, private equity, or related financial services experience with a bachelor’s degree and a strong academic record.
  • Past exposure to private markets fundraising, LP relations, or placement agent work is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail; comfortable managing many moving pieces at once.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the IR CRM — tracking LP relationships, meeting notes, outreach cadence, and pipeline across the fundraise.
  • Lead DDQ completion, coordination and maintenance, keeping data rooms current and audit-ready.
  • Maintain fund overview materials, LP presentations, LPAC materials, and LP-facing materials.
  • Create new marketing collateral — one-pagers, leave-behinds, fund updates — aligned with the brand.
  • Build LP/prospect investor profiles to support outreach and relationship strategy.
  • Provide sales-assistant support to Head of IR: scheduling, briefing prep, travel logistics, and follow-up tracking.
  • Support process letters, subscription documents, and closing logistics with legal counsel and fund administration.
  • Tackle the full range of IR tasks with ownership and follow-through from start to finish.
  • Collaborate closely with Investment & Finance Teams.

Job description

San Francisco-based private equity firm with several billion in assets under management, investing in mid-market businesses is looking to hire an IR Associate / Senior Associate to be fully dedicated to the Investor Relations function — a hands-on, high-exposure seat working alongside the Head of IR on every aspect of investor engagement and fundraising execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own and maintain the IR CRM — tracking LP relationships, meeting notes, outreach cadence, and pipeline across the fundraise ensuring momentum continues to and through our upcoming fundraise.
  • Lead DDQ completion, coordination and maintenance, keeping data rooms and responses current and audit-ready.
  • Maintain fund overview materials, one-off LP presentations, LPAC materials, and other LP facing related materials.
  • Create new marketing collateral — one-pagers, leave-behinds, fund updates — consistent with the brand.
  • Build and maintain LP / prospect investor profiles to support targeted outreach and relationship strategy.
  • Provide sales-assistant support to the Head of IR: scheduling, briefing prep, travel logistics, and follow-up tracking.
  • Support process letters, subscription documents, and closing logistics alongside legal counsel and fund administration.
  • Take on the full range of IR tasks, large and small, with ownership and follow-through from start to finish.
  • Work in close partnership with the Investment & Finance Teams.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Minimum of two years of investment banking, private equity, or related financial services experience, with a bachelor's degree and a strong academic record.
  • Prior exposure to private markets fundraising, LP relations, or placement agent work is a plus but not a prerequisite — they will train the right person.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail; comfortable managing many moving pieces at once.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; polished, professional presence with sophisticated investors.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership — no task too small, no detail too minor.
  • Excellence in Excel and PowerPoint; CRM/DealCloud experience a plus.
  • Passion for leveraging and adopting Ai on a day-to-day basis across every aspect of the job.
