Job summary

MacArthur Foundation in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Investments Office Intern for Summer 2027. The role offers hybrid work with in-office days and a June 8–August 11 program, reporting to the Senior Analyst of Strategy and Operations.

Responsibilities include analytical support, meetings with investment managers, and a summer project presented to the Investments Office. Coursework in finance or related fields and Excel proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program.
• Finance, accounting, economics, statistics, data analysis coursework or related field is preferred; investment coursework is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Exposure to the Investments Office's multi-asset class portfolio and investment operations.
• Provide analytical, research, and operational support; attend meetings with investment managers; observe and participate in internal discussions where investments decisions are made.
• Complete a summer-long project and present findings to the Investments Office at the end of the summer.
• Support projects including due diligence, portfolio or company analysis, market research, financial modeling, or AI-enabled tools/workflows.
