Job summary

MPI is seeking an Investments Associate to support acquisitions, underwriting, asset management, and portfolio strategy across a growing investment platform. You will participate in the full lifecycle of investments, from underwriting through value realization, in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.

The role offers exposure to senior leadership, with opportunities to influence decisions and drive value across acquisitions, business plans, and investor reporting in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience in acquisitions, asset management, investments, private equity real estate, or related field.
  • Strong financial modeling and underwriting capabilities.
  • Experience analyzing property-level operating performance and financial statements.
  • Understanding of real estate valuation methodologies and investment fundamentals.
  • Experience in operationally driven real estate sectors is highly preferred (senior living, hospitality, healthcare, student housing, manufactured housing, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators, ownership groups, capital partners, and senior executives.
  • Intellectual curiosity, strong business judgment, and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform acquisition underwriting, financial modeling, and investment analysis.
  • Assist with due diligence, transaction execution, financing activities, and asset dispositions.
  • Monitor property-level and portfolio-level performance against budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
  • Analyze operating results and identify opportunities to improve performance and asset value.
  • Support annual budgeting, reforecasting, and investor reporting processes.
  • Work with operators and internal stakeholders to evaluate and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and reporting materials for senior leadership.

Unlike traditional investment roles where assets are handed off after closing, this position offers exposure to the full lifecycle of an investment, allowing you to participate in both transaction execution and business plan implementation.

Our client is a privately held real estate investment platform focused on acquiring, operating, and creating value across a portfolio of operationally intensive real estate assets. The firm has established access to significant investment capital and maintains an active acquisition pipeline, creating a highly dynamic environment for investment professionals seeking meaningful transaction exposure.

Operating as a lean and entrepreneurial team, the organization provides direct interaction with senior leadership and the opportunity to influence investment decisions from underwriting through business plan execution and ultimate value realization.

The Investments Associate will work closely with senior investment leadership and play a critical role in evaluating opportunities, monitoring asset performance, and driving value creation initiatives.
