New York Life Insurance Co. is seeking a Director, Head of Investment Strategy within Wealth Advisory to lead strategic relationships with external asset managers and OCIOs, guiding the design of customized investment models for high-net-worth clients with $5M+ in investable assets.

The role balances strategy, platform due diligence, and relationship management, ensuring alignment with business goals, client objectives, and current market conditions.

Qualifications

• MBA or CFA/CAIA preferred or equivalent
• 8–10 years in wealth management, private banking, family office, or investment product
• Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) and Series 7 or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Deep knowledge of investment managers across asset classes for high-net-worth clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to work with OCIO partnerships, platform providers, and research teams

Responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with OCIOs, asset managers, and platforms
• Design and implement multi-asset model portfolios and UMA strategies with OCIO
• Assist with product access and partnership strategies to optimize client outcomes
• Align investment offerings with client segmentation and market trends
• Coordinate and communicate investment research, market analyses, and portfolio changes
• Collaborate with external and internal teams to ensure fiduciary and regulatory standards
• Support delivery of client solutions with senior leadership
• Provide thought leadership on capital markets and portfolio theory
