Job description

The role of the Research Associate in the Investment Research Department at Infinitus Wealth Management is to support Portfolio Managers in their efforts to analyze companies and generate positive investment performance. Research Associates will be expected to do a wide range of research projects to aid in the investment process, including building financial models and industry frameworks as well as company/industry-specific ad hoc projects. Successful Research Associates are self-motivated, demonstrate analytical aptitude and attention to detail, and have a strong interest in investing.

Strong analytical skills, high aptitude for numbers; ability to identify trends through fundamental analysis.

Contribute to investment strategy discussions and aid in the development of portfolio strategies based upon the analysis of macroeconomic factors and sector fundamentals.

Financial modeling to forecast company results and value equity securities, collecting and evaluating industry data, and maintaining industry databases.

Translating quantitative financial conclusions into written form, charts, and graphs that can be included in research reports and distributed to clients of the Firm.

Actively participates in weekly investment team meetings.

Comply with all delegated authorities/risk parameters and demonstrate understanding of the risk management framework.

Strong quantitative skills – you will demonstrate strong finance, accounting, and valuation skills.

Solid writing and presentation skills – you should have an equal capacity to express quantitative conclusions in both written and spoken form; associates should be able to translate financial analyses into high-quality charts and graphical representations for use in research reports.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills – the aptitude to create complex, yet understandable financial models for use by senior analysts and the Firm’s clients.

Resourcefulness – the ability to take initiative and ownership of projects and assignments, at times with more autonomy and little direction.

Resilient work ethic and collaborative disposition, with the ability to work well on a team to deliver timely.

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of sophisticated financial products (cash and derivatives).
  • Experience modeling cash flows and examining accounting statements.
  • Performing in-depth financial analysis and presenting results and conclusions.
  • Assisting in the management of portfolios with measurable return objectives and explicit risk parameters.
  • Advanced knowledge of products and concepts relating to the financial services industry, including financial instruments, financial management, insurance principles, and cash and capital principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Advanced working knowledge of portfolio management theory.
  • Advanced knowledge of capital and global markets.
  • Advanced working knowledge of finance technology processes, procedures, solutions, and best practices.
