Job summary

UMB Financial Corporation’s Portfolio Construction Desk manages Investment Models and implements the Investment Strategy across client accounts. As an Investment Platform Trader II, you will oversee roughly 2,700 accounts, help craft client Investment Policy Statements and Investment Proposals, and operate in a hybrid model (in-office Monday-Thursday, remote Friday).

You will execute trades, maintain high-quality execution, generate management reports, and support settlement with custodians

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of applicable experience in trading/portfolio management.
• Ability to solve complex problems and communicate clearly.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Proficient in trading and order management software systems and custody/clearing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Focus on less complex order management and trading activities for the team.
• Manage day-to-day client transactions; execute purchases and sales.
• Maintain high quality of order execution across transactions.
• Produce reports for management and compliance on trading activity.
• Provide market color and information on macroeconomics and company news to investment teams.
• Execute programs to elevate client experience, scale, and minimize risk.
• Assist with trade settlement; liaise with custodian banks to ensure timely settlement.
• Prevent errors, breaches of client confidentiality, or omissions.
• Ensure Compliance requirements are met in duties.
• Provide credit research on tax-exempt holdings and analyze new purchases.
