Job summary

The State Board of Investment (SBI) is seeking an Investment Analyst, Performance Analytics in St. Paul, MN. This role supports internal/external performance reporting, validation and reconciliation of performance data, and collaboration with investment staff and external providers.

Reporting to the Head of Performance Analytics, you will help maintain accurate performance measures, benchmarks, and risk analysis, with duties spanning data quality, attribution studies, and reporting enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• At least three (3) years of professional experience at a financial services firm or in a comparable role
• Working knowledge of institutional investment concepts, including asset allocation, investment performance, portfolio benchmarks, investment vehicles, and the objectives of major asset classes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Demonstrated attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
• Experience communicating effectively with professionals across functions and at different organizational levels
• Willing participation in and progress toward completion of the CFA program

Responsibilities

• Calculate and report portfolio and composite performance across the many line items and asset classes in SBI’s investment program
• Generate internal and external reporting to support SBI staff, including daily performance monitoring, quarterly board books, annual reports, and attribution and risk analysis
• Maintain data quality, consistency, and accuracy across custodial, accounting, and internal platforms for performance measurement and reporting purposes
• Contribute to ongoing and ad hoc projects such as asset allocation studies, system and/or process enhancements, and performance measurement and reporting enhancements
