Responsibilities

• Research and analysis: analyze investment strategies and vehicles across equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, and alternatives.
• Due diligence support for potential investment opportunities.
• Portfolio management support: monitor performance, update databases, ensure data integrity.
• Financial modeling: update models and communicate results to the team.
• Reporting: prepare reports/presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Market monitoring: stay updated on trends and economic developments impacting the fund.

Investment Intern

The LAGERS paid investment internship program provides the experience to understand asset allocation, investment strategy, market analysis, and many other components of managing an $11 billion, multi-asset portfolio. With personalized mentoring from our CIO and other industry professionals, this is your opportunity to launch your career in institutional investing.

What you will do:

• Research and Analysis: Conducts analysis of investment strategies and vehicles across equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, and alternative investments.
• Due Diligence: Supports the IMR team in conducting qualitative and quantitative due diligence on potential investment opportunities.
• Portfolio Management Support: Assists in monitoring the performance of existing investments, updating and maintaining databases, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity for effective decision-making.
• Financial Modeling: Updates existing financial models and communicates with the investment team the results.
• Reporting: Prepares reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders, summarizing research findings, investment strategies, and performance metrics.
• Market Monitoring: Stays updated on market trends and economic developments that could impact the fund's investments.
• Collaboration: Works closely with the investment team to support the implementation of investment strategies.
