Job summary

Missouri Local Government Employees Retirement System (LAGERS) invites motivated university students to join its investment internship program in Jefferson City, MO. You will gain exposure to asset allocation, strategy, market analysis, and portfolio management under CIO mentorship.

• Portfolio Management Support: Monitor performance of existing investments, maintain databases, ensure data accuracy.
• Financial Modeling: Update existing financial models and communicate results to the team.
• Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Market Monitoring: Track market trends and economic developments affecting the fund.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the investment team to implement strategies.

Investment Intern

The LAGERS paid investment internship program provides the experience to understand asset allocation, investment strategy, market analysis, and many other components of managing an $11 billion, multi-asset portfolio. What you will do:

• Research and Analysis: Conducts analysis of investment strategies and vehicles across equities, fixed income, real estate, private equity, and alternative investments.
• Due Diligence: Supports the IMR team in conducting qualitative and quantitative due diligence on potential investment opportunities.
• Portfolio Management Support: Assists in monitoring the performance of existing investments, updating and maintaining databases, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity for effective decision-making.
• Financial Modeling: Updates existing financial models and communicates with the investment team the results.
• Reporting: Prepares reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders, summarizing research findings, investment strategies, and performance metrics.
• Market Monitoring: Stays updated on market trends and economic developments that could impact the fund's investments.
• Collaboration: Works closely with the investment team to support the implementation of investment strategies.
