Job summary

Artisan Partners Limited Partnership seeks a Counsel to provide legal advice and support for invest­ment advisers, funds, and managed accounts. The role spans across the organization in a collaborative, development-focused environment.

Location options include Milwaukee preferred, with relocation offered and regular travel to Milwaukee HQ. Salary range is $175,000–$250,000, plus discretionary bonus potential based on firm and individual performance.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in at least one state.
• 2 to 5 years of legal experience with a top-tier law firm in investment funds or corporate/securities law.
• Experience with Investment Company Act, Investment Advisers Act, 1933 Act, and 1934 Act.

Responsibilities

• Advise investment, product, distribution, marketing, compliance, and other business teams on legal and regulatory matters affecting investment products and advisory activities
• Support the structuring, development, launch, and ongoing operation of registered and private investment products, including review of offering, governing, disclosure, and related documentation
• Assist with regulatory filings, fund governance matters, board materials, disclosure updates, and other legal requirements applicable to registered investment companies and other pooled investment vehicles
• Provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice regarding the design, distribution, and promotion of investment products across distribution channels and geographies
• Review marketing, advertising, and communications materials relating to investment strategies, mutual funds, private funds, separately managed accounts, and other investment products for compliance with applicable securities laws and regulations
• Monitor and analyze regulatory, legislative, and industry developments affecting investment advisers, registered investment companies, private funds, and other investment products, and advise the business regarding their potential impact
• Partner with compliance and business stakeholders to evaluate and implement changes arising from new or evolving SEC rules, regulatory guidance, examinations, enforcement developments, and industry practices
• Support other legal department initiatives and responsibilities as assigned
