My client is a $3 trillion global pension fund currently expanding their presence in New York, NY.

This role is part of the private equity portfolio monitoring team and is pivotal in ensuring robust asset oversight, effective risk management, and the continuous improvement of investment and relationship management processes. This person oversees the monitoring and evaluation of investment assets, ensuring compliance, timely reporting, and effective coordination across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the delivery of accurate data and investment insights used for PE (Private Equity) investment decision making
• Responsible for collating all PE data and reporting requirements from business stakeholders across the PE teams
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of business requirements, data models, source-to-target mappings, and data quality control definitions
• Design data platform components to meet business requirements, encompassing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines, metadata management, and data quality functionalities
• Ensure that industry best practices for testing to perform comprehensive unit testing of developed components have been established
• Responsible for ensuring any data exceptions and data quality issues are investigated
• Work with the global private equity team on various ad hoc reports

Key Requirements:

• BSc in Computer Science (data analysis), Applied Math or Finance
• 5-7 years’ experience as a data product owner within an asset owner / investment management organization within their data operations capability
• Proficiency in Python, rest APIs and SQL, data visualization
• Proficiency in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools
• Certification in Python, Power BI
• Knowledge of private equity / GP /LP data
• Good understanding of data management functions and usage of investment data in various forms
• Knowledge of financial data providers/source qualities. Experience navigating market data platforms for data sampling and review
• Ability to guide teams through complex financial data structures
• Proficient in using tools and methodologies to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and security, aligning with Data Governance best practices.
