CONTRACT Lead Investment Data Analyst with hands on Performance Data, Ref Data, Market Data - Remote EST Contract

LOCATION - 100% Fully Remote - must sit in EST hours.

Data Analyst to support investment data and performance-related initiatives. This person will translate business requirements into data requirements and help define new reference-data attributes for portfolios, instruments, and other investment objects supporting performance workflows. The analyst will work across the investment-performance data ecosystem, including portfolio setup, accounting data, performance generation, analytics, and reporting. The role will also support the collection, normalization, validation, and migration of historical performance data from legacy systems into FactSet. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in Excel and comfortable working with large datasets, spreadsheets, and manually sourced information while maintaining strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Responsibilities will include comparing pre- and post-loaded data, identifying discrepancies, supporting testing, documenting results, and partnering closely with technology and business teams to resolve issues. Experience with investment management, performance data, reference data, FactSet, or historical return data is preferred, but strong data-analysis and financial-services experience may be equally valuable. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-moving project environment.

Performance history

• Gathering and normalizing large amount of performance history data from legacy systems


• Partnering with IT on the building and testing of data loader for delivery into FactSet


• Developing reconciliation processes for source to target data set to ensure accuracy and completeness


• Documenting all processes and business decision made with respect to historical performance data

Performance Data Requirements Delivery

• Partner with the business team to understand and document data requirements for the new strategic performance toolkit centered around FactSet


• Organize requirements into clear delivery paths with input from Data Architecture, Ref Data, and Market Data teams


• Identify and document data in progress, already delivered, in the backlog or new and provide status updates to leadership


• Work with Data owners and stewards to plan for seed data activities and Op Model definitions for any new data or workflows


• Deliver new data attributes in partnership with the Ref Data team, and the Data Owners

Interface Documentation

• Capture performance dependent interface purpose and support model


• Document source to target mapping between systems


• Partner with Technology, Business and 3rd Party partners


• Facilitate Operating Model agreement ahead of delivery dates


• Deliver all data definitions to the firm’s Business Glossary
