Syndicate Engineering is a front office team within Investment Banking, developing critical platforms for IPOs, bond offerings, and deal execution stages including investor indication, book building, trade booking, risk management, and reporting.

Your Accountability & Impact

We seek a creative, innovative, enthusiastic and assertive individual to lead our team in New York and beyond, developing across all tiers of our business-facing systems. Responsibilities include:

• Leading a full-stack development team within Global Banking and Markets, overseeing scalable, high-performance application design, development, and delivery while ensuring best practices, timeline adherence, and technical innovation.
• Spending at least 80% of your time coding by example.
• Collaborating with Program managers, UX, and stakeholders using agile methodologies to deliver quality products on time.
• Transforming and automating investment banking deal activities, contributing to large-scale upgrades and data pipeline initiatives.
• Implementing best practices like TDD, maintaining high coding standards through testing, code reviews, and metrics.
• Ensuring solutions meet performance, security, and scalability needs.
• Mentoring junior engineers on best practices and problem-solving.
• Encouraging innovation with new ideas and technologies.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of hands-on development with a proven record of quality code delivery.
• Recent experience with Java, RESTful services, Spring, Hibernate, ReactJS (or similar), in a TDD environment.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Building and maintaining microservice-based distributed architectures.
• Automated testing via TDD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership skills including team management, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed system end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Designing solutions using Enterprise Integration Patterns.
• Experience with Apache Camel, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Dropwizard.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation.
