Job summary

Citi is seeking an Investment Banking Senior Associate in the San Francisco area. The role supports clients with capital markets funding and strategic advisory services for mergers and other transactions, coordinating with Institutional Banking.

It also acts as an intermediary in trading for clients and aims to help formulate investment strategies and capital raises. The successful candidate will help execute Citi’s IB activities, leverage prior experience to enhance M&A execution, and

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience evaluating corporate transactions and structures.
• Experience creating financial analyses.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; client development experience.
• Series 79 and 63 licenses within 150 days of joining.

Job description

The Investment Banking Senior Associate is an intermediate level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Investment Banking Senior Associate also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the execution of Citi’s Investment Banking business activities
• Leverage past investment banking or related experience to enhance M&A execution and capital raising capabilities
• Contribute to building Citi’s franchise

Recommended Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration Master's degree in Business Administration

• Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Experience assisting with client development
• Ability to work with teams and track business development (collect research, analyze industry trends)
