Citigroup Inc. in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Analyst for Investment Banking focused on Metals & Mining to advise clients on capital raising and strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, within a global Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory group.

You will contribute to live deal execution, build complex financial models, prepare memoranda and pitches, and work in a team that values rigorous analysis, clear communication, and career development.

Qualifications

Job description

Citi is looking for a Senior Analyst to join its Investment Banking team with a focus on the Metals & Mining sector, where you will advise clients on capital raising and strategic transactions including mergers and acquisitions. Working within the Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory group, you will play a meaningful role in live deal execution and client strategy development, contributing directly to outcomes that matter for some of the world's most significant companies in the natural resources space.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on capital markets transactions and strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions, as a core member of the Investment Banking team.
• Organize and analyze complex financial data to support client proposals and strategic plans, ensuring accuracy and clarity for senior stakeholders.
• Build and maintain sophisticated financial models used for valuation purposes across live deals and pitches.
• Prepare high-quality written recommendations, valuation materials, and statistical exhibits for both pitch presentations and active transactions.
• Conduct in-depth economic and financial research to support deal analysis and client strategy development.
• Evaluate the financial performance of companies against broader industry benchmarks and market trends to inform investment recommendations.
• Collaborate with senior Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory professionals, contributing analytical and executional support across client assignments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, capital markets, or a related financial advisory environment.
• FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 licenses.
• Demonstrated ability to build and interpret complex financial models for valuation and transaction analysis.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial analysis and recommendations to senior audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
