Job summary

Mercor partners with a leading AI research organization to evaluate how well AI systems perform real-world banking work. In this role you will define what excellent work looks like by designing task-specific grading criteria and scoring completed work samples with rigorous, well-reasoned written justifications.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in investment banking at top banks or elite boutiques, with fluency in three-statement modeling, valuation techniques, and deal-process materials.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional investment banking experience at associate level or above.
• Background at leading global investment banks or elite advisory boutiques in M&A, coverage, or capital markets.
• Deep fluency in three-statement and transaction modeling (DCF, LBO, comparables, merger math) and valuation judgment.
• Exceptionally strong written communication with ability to justify why a piece of work does or does not meet the bar.
• Detail-oriented, consistent, and comfortable having judgment reviewed and calibrated against peers.
• Prior experience with AI training, evaluation, or human-data projects is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design precise, task-specific grading criteria for real-world banking deliverables (financial models, valuation analyses, pitch decks and CIMs, deal memos).
• Score AI-generated and human work samples against those criteria with detailed written justifications for every score.
• Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment so that scores are reproducible and defensible.
• Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate quickly on your work.
