Investment Banking Associate - Tech Enabled Services

Join William Blair as an Investment Banking Associate focused on tech-enabled services. The role involves supporting new business development, transaction execution, and the delivery of investment banking products and services.

Responsibilities

• Execute extensive financial and valuation analyses to value debt and equity for mergers, acquisitions, and capital‑raising transactions.
• Build advanced financial models, leveraging a broad understanding of valuation and finance/accounting topics.
• Lead due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of potential and live transactions, anticipating potential deal issues.
• Participate in presentation development and hypothesis testing to highlight financial analysis and research results.
• Develop, produce, and deliver proposals and presentations to clients and prospects, showcasing IB product solutions.
• Actively participate in client meetings and drafting sessions.
• Research and expand industry expertise, targeting specific clients or sectors and monitoring key industry drivers.
• Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions for increased efficiency.
• Take ownership of client relationships, fostering effective dialogue with finance and accounting staff.
• Demonstrate understanding of macro factors related to client industry and potential implications.
• Serve as an on‑the‑job trainer for analysts, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high‑quality work.
• Ensure all activities comply with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Assume additional responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• MBA strongly preferred.
• Internship or prior work experience in the financial services industry preferred.
• Required SIE Exam and Series 79/63 certifications within the specified time frames (details provided).

• Excellent mathematical, writing, verbal, and computer skills.
• Ability to adapt to new tasks with little notice.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is $175,000 – $175,000 USD, excluding other forms of compensation. The role may be eligible for discretionary annual bonuses and/or commission‑based incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage; employer‑paid short and long‑term disability and life insurance; 401(k) with profit sharing; paid time off; Maven family & fertility benefit; parental leave (including adoption, surrogacy, and foster placement); and other voluntary benefits.
