Job description

Opportunities in Boston, New York and Atlanta
About us

Equiteq is a fast-growing global boutique M&A advisory firm specializing in IT / Digital Services, Consulting, and the broader knowledge economy. With offices across New York, Boston, Atlanta, London, Singapore, Bengaluru and Sydney, we’re the go-to advisor for founder-led and sponsor-backed firms navigating the most dynamic sector in M&A today.

We’re deep sector specialists. Our clients trust us because we understand their world, build genuine relationships, and deliver outcomes that matter.

We hire people who are driven to deliver exceptional client outcomes, committed to growing their craft, and eager to leave a mark on our firm’s reputation as the premier advisor in the knowledge economy.

About this role

Associates are at the heart of what we do. You’ll be the analytical engine on every deal — owning key workstreams across both origination and execution, and sitting at the table on live transactions from day one.

You’ll sharpen your quantitative skills and commercial instincts, build real relationships with C-suite clients, and work alongside a tight-knit team that invests in your development.

Our goal is simple: turn great Associates into seasoned M&A professionals and genuine sector experts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and own complex quantitative analyses across sell-side and buy-side mandates, including valuation models, forecast models, merger and buyout analyses
  • Lead the creation of pitchbooks, CIMs, and other high-impact transaction and marketing materials
  • Drive and manage critical process workstreams end-to-end
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external counterparties across your deal teams
  • Mentor Analysts and serve as a trusted technical and cultural resource on your team
  • Shape Equiteq’s thought leadership through sharp research and analysis on our coverage sectors and M&A market trends
  • Contribute to business development, daily operations, and the culture that makes Equiteq a great place to build a career
What we are looking for
Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience at a reputable investment banking practice with a core focus on M&A
  • Strong quantitative and analytical foundation in accounting, financial modelling and valuation
  • Solid understanding of the M&A process and the commercial dynamics that drive decisions at every stage of a transaction
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator; you can distill complexity and present with confidence
  • Excel and PowerPoint fluency; familiarity with CapitalIQ, Factset, or PitchBook is a plus
  • Meticulous attention to detail — you set a high bar for yourself and the work
  • Proven ability to manage workstreams, guide Analysts, and keep teams aligned, even under deal pressure
  • Relevant sector knowledge preferred but not required
Education/Qualifications:
  • FINRA SIE, Series 79 and Series 63 licenses will be required
Our values

At Equiteq, our values are central to what we do and how we show up for each other and our clients:

  • Achievement: We are driven by attaining measurable success for our clients, our colleagues, our firm and ourselves.
  • Empathy: We are excellent at understanding entrepreneurs. We are comfortable stepping into difficult, uncertain situations and figuring out a path forward, with competent humility. We know when to do the banking work and when to focus on human connections. We treat our clients as the savvy entrepreneurs that they are and listen, so that we can help them realize their vision.
  • Integrity: What we do is consistent with what we say. We define expectations and meet those, every time.
  • Teamwork: We value collaboration; we value our team. We work together to produce the best outcomes for our clients. We gravitate to working in teams even when solo work might be more efficient, easier, or faster.
  • Entrepreneurial: We understand entrepreneurs because we are entrepreneurs ourselves. We all think and act like owners, which means we care passionately about our clients, our reputation, and our success
Diversity, equality and inclusion

Building a more diverse and inclusive Equiteq is an ongoing commitment, one that starts with how we hire, but doesn’t end there. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and make our decisions solely on knowledge, skills, and relevant experience.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is between $160,000 to $200,000 annually. The offered salary may vary based upon various factors including individual experience and skills.

Equiteq employees are also eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus scheme, based on personal and team performance, and receive a range of benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k match and a minimum of 20 days PTO.
