We are currently seeking an experienced Analyst to join our Power, Utilities & Infrastructure financial advisory practice in New York.

Moelis Analysts are expected to assume significant responsibilities requiring intellectual curiosity, motivation, and analytical skills. Daily tasks include: financial analysis and modeling, industry research, preparing client presentations, and interacting with senior bankers and clients.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support senior managers in origination activities, including preparing historical and projected financial statements, analyzing financial implications of mergers and acquisitions, and conducting valuation analyses for major corporations.
  • Participate in execution activities such as data gathering, analysis, material preparation, and managing standard processes like deal documentation.
  • Build and apply valuation models based on financial research, including comparable company analysis, discounted cash flow analysis, and acquisition analysis.
  • Prepare analytical materials for credit, compliance, engagement committee, and balance sheet approvals.
  • Conduct corporate operations reviews, portfolio analyses, and prepare risk/return valuations.
  • Gather and analyze market share data, shareholder, and investor profiles.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Results-driven with the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with financial data.
  • Proven team player capable of effective interaction with internal teams and clients.
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and financial reporting skills.
Education:
  • Undergraduate degree; majors in finance, business, accounting, economics, or mathematics preferred.

Estimated Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000
