The Company

Our client is a fast-growing IPP focused on the development, financing, and operation of utility-scale battery energy storage systems across the U.S. The company’s leadership brings deep expertise in clean energy, with a mission-driven approach to grid reliability and renewable integration. Backed by leading infrastructure investors, the firm partners with utilities and large energy users to deploy strategic storage solutions at scale.

The Role

The Investment Associate / Senior Associate will play a key role in supporting all corporate and project-level financial activities. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance, this individual will contribute to transaction execution, investment analysis, modeling, and investor reporting. This is an opportunity for a finance professional with ~5 years of experience to help shape the financial strategy of a high-growth platform in a dynamic sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, refine, and manage complex project finance models for utility-scale energy storage assets
  • Conduct portfolio- and company-level financial analysis, including valuation and return metrics
  • Support financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting across the organization
  • Assist with capital raising processes, including tax equity and debt diligence
  • Coordinate data room creation, management, and investor deliverables
  • Partner with internal teams and external advisors to execute transactions and manage timelines

Qualifications

  • ~5 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking, or FP&A, ideally within energy or renewables
  • Advanced Excel skills with a strong understanding of project finance modeling
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; CPA/CFA a plus
  • Exposure to tax equity and/or project debt financings preferred
  • Familiarity with GAAP financial accounting
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
