Job summary

Bertram Capital is seeking Associates to join its investment team in Foster City, CA for a Summer 2027 start date. You will work on a small deal team with Principals and Partners, evaluating new platform investments and add-ons while developing investment theses and portfolio management skills.

The role requires 1–3 years of investment banking experience, an undergraduate degree, and strong financial modeling and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years investment banking experience.
• Undergraduate degree with strong GPA and test scores.
• Fluency with financial statements, modeling and capital structure.
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple projects.
• Interest in portfolio company strategy and operations.
• Strong analytical skills, strategic insight, industry perspective and curiosity.
• Self-starter with excellent oral communication.
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new platform investments and add-on acquisitions.
• Develop investment theses and manage portfolio performance.
• Support deal execution with Principals and Partners.
• Collaborate across Industrials, Consumer, and Business Services verticals.
• Contribute to strategy development and portfolio company operations.
