Job summary

Fiduciary Trust International, part of Franklin Templeton, seeks an Investment Associate to support Portfolio Managers in designing and managing client portfolios in line with investment policies and objectives. The role trains junior investment professionals pursuing wealth management careers.

You will construct portfolios, analyze tax-aware transitions, and execute trades, while collaborating with teams to monitor risk and performance. Atlanta, GA office four days a week.

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of relevant financial services experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of markets, portfolio construction, asset allocation, and major asset classes.
  • Strong Excel proficiency and familiarity with portfolio, trading, performance, accounting, and CRM systems.
  • Experience with Charles River, Aladdin, or comparable platforms preferred.
  • Strong analytical judgment and ability to translate portfolio, risk, performance, and market data.
  • Client-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and risk awareness.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with colleagues, clients, and prospects.
  • Professional maturity, accountability, collaboration, independence, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Interest in long-term wealth management growth and increasing portfolio and client responsibility.
  • Ability to work out of our Atlanta, GA office four days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Construct customized portfolios aligned with client objectives and constraints.
  • Analyze incoming portfolios and recommend tax-aware transitions.
  • Execute equity, fixed income, and fund trades with accurate allocations.
  • Support tax-loss harvesting, gain/loss analysis, tax-lot management, and concentrated-position strategies.
  • Monitor account activity, income, distributions, capital flows, and portfolio risks.
  • Apply developing judgment to cash management, trade allocations, and portfolio implementation.
  • Review portfolios and recommend rebalancing or tactical adjustments within guidelines.
  • Prepare portfolio analytics, performance reports, cash-flow analyses, and long-term wealth projections.
  • Interpret markets, economic developments, research, and firm views for portfolio implications.
  • Independently manage smaller client accounts as experience increases.
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers on portfolio decisions and client discussions.
  • Prepare analyses, proposals, allocations, recommendations, and client materials.
  • Present performance, positioning, and market perspectives in client meetings.
  • Coordinate portfolio setup, benchmarks, and composites with teams.

Investment Associate

Fiduciary Trust International is hiring an Investment Associate to join our office located in Atlanta, GA. The Investment Associate serves as a key partner to Portfolio Managers in all aspects of the investment process, including the design, execution, and ongoing management of client portfolios in alignment with the firm’s investment policies and client-specific objectives. The role is expected to serve as training for junior investment professionals who are interested in developing a career in wealth management.

Core Responsibilities
  • You will construct customized portfolios aligned with client objectives, constraints, and firm market views.

Compensation: Franklin Templeton offers employees a competitive and valuable range of total rewards—monetary and non-monetary — designed to support their well-being and recognize their time, talents, and results.
