Investment Analyst

Overview

  • This is a W-2, full-time position with work hours of 8 AM – 5 PM (CST).
  • U.S. residency and existing work authorization are required, as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
  • TNLPG is a remote-first company that fosters a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous learning.
  • We are based out of Chicago, IL, and typically have three in-person team meetings per year.

  • $60,000 - $80,000 base salary commensurate with experience, licenses, and designations plus bonus opportunities.

About the Role

The core purpose of this role is to drive consistent and accurate execution of the investment strategies supporting clients’ financial plans. The bullet points below describe the essence of the Investment Analyst role on a day-to-day basis. We are open to more qualified and experienced candidates.   • Conduct research on investment products and strategies, including mutual funds, ETFs, interval funds, alternative investments, and annuity products
  • Present research findings to the Investment Committee and contribute to discussion and decision-making
  • Monitor, update, and maintain asset allocation models
  • Monitor, update, and maintain steering lists of funds, alternatives, and annuity products
  • Monitor and manage discretionary portfolios using the Envestnet platform, including trade execution
  • Contribute to Planning Department projects, priorities, and strategic initiatives
  • Prepare investment and financial planning materials in preparation for client meetings

Career Progression

We currently envision the Investment Analyst role as the first step in a career path toward taking leadership responsibility for all aspects of the investment management process as outlined below. It could also be an entry point for someone who desires to be a client-facing advisor.

Stage 1: Foundational Execution - Drive consistent and accurate implementation of investment strategies to directly support client financial plans.

a. $60,000 to $80,000 base salary

b. 2 - 5 years of experience

c. CFA/CFP candidate

Stage 2: Strategic Influence - Leverage deep understanding to significantly influence the firm's investment strategy while continuing to drive its precise execution in client portfolios.

a. $80,000 to $120,000 base salary

b. 5 - 10 years of experience

c. CFA/CFP designation

Stage 3: Strategic Leadership - Lead and champion the firm’s investment strategy and its successful execution

a. $120,000+ base salary

b. 10+ years of experience

c. CFA/CFP designation

Job Outcomes

  • Within 90 Days: Independently execute model trading processes, manage and maintain model portfolios, conduct investment research and present findings to the Investment Committee, and learn the quarterly fee process. Additionally, contribute to client portfolios by independently making recommendations for a majority (~80%) of clients.
  • Within 1 Year: Achieve full independence in making model portfolio recommendations for all clients, creating specialized model portfolios, and conducting comprehensive investment research. Will also be fully responsible for the accurate execution of the quarterly fee process.

About You

Investment Analyst Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 2+ years of investment-related work experience or technical financial planning work experience with a strong investment component.
  • Series SIE, 7 and 66 are required or must be obtained within 1 year from the employment start date.
  • CFA and/or CFP Certification or candidacy is preferred.
