Elevance Health is seeking an Investment Analyst to provide rigorous oversight of investment portfolios across insurance, benefit plans, and foundations. This role involves detailed investment analysis, performance attribution, private equity and real estate benchmarking, and coordination with internal and external parties.

The position supports portfolio management, reporting, and audit requests within a hybrid in-office/remote environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of financial experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• MBA and CFA progress preferred.
• Intermediate Excel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create investment analysis, including monthly performance analysis for fixed income, equity, and alternatives.
• Assist in private equity and real estate performance analysis and benchmarking.
• Coordinate with internal legal and external managers for documentation and execution.
• Compile diligence documentation for new alternative investments.
• Assist internal portfolio management and trade settlements.
• Prepare monthly subsidiary investment reports for boards.
• Assist in quarterly retirement committee reports.
• Support monitoring and rebalancing of benefit plans asset allocation.
• Compile audit/tax/accounting requests as needed.
• Process capital calls for alternative investments.

Job description

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Ideal candidates will reside within a commuting distance from our Indianapolis, IN PulsePoint.

The Investment Analyst will be responsible for providing support for the oversight of the company's investment portfolios, including insurance, benefit plans and foundation portfolios.

How you will make an impact

• Creates investment analysis, including monthly investment performance analysis and attribution for fixed income, equity, and alternative investment strategies.
• Assists in private equity and real estate investment performance analysis and benchmarking.
• Coordinates with internal legal department and external investment managers for document negotiation and execution.
• Compiles documentation of diligence review activities for new alternative investment commitments.
• Assists in the internal portfolio management and trade settlements.
• Compiles monthly subsidiary investment reports for subsidiary boards.
• Assists in the preparation of quarterly retirement committee meeting reports.
• Assist in the monitoring and rebalancing of the benefit plans' asset allocation in accordance with the investment policy statement.
• Assist in the compiling of various audit/tax/accounting requests throughout the year.
• Processes alternative investment capital calls for payment.

Minimum Requirements

Requires a BA/BS in Accounting/Finance and a minimum of 2 years of financial experience; or a combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

• MBA and/or progress toward CFA preferred.
• Intermediate Excel experience preferred.
